Come and spend a glorious summer day at Shuttleworth experiencing the planes and engineering feats of aircraft like the Spitfire.

I will be running a drop in session looking at computational thinking and engineering suitable for children from 3 years and up (grown ups are very welcome to join in with the activities too!)

2026 marks the 90th anniversary of the first flight of the Spitfire, an aviation milestone that introduced one of the most influential fighter designs of WWII.

To honour this extraordinary aircraft, we're aiming to assemble one example of every airworthy Spitfire mark currently in the UK to tell the story of the Spitfire. These iconic aircraft will appear alongside wider Collection and visiting aircraft displays.

And, as always, you'll still have the chance to enjoy fantastic free ground activities including a fun fair, interactive Discovery Zones and more.
